VANCOUVER, Canada: Lululemon is taking its athleticwear to the gridiron. The company announced a new partnership with the National Football League (NFL) to launch an apparel collection featuring officially licensed gear for all 32 teams, its first collaboration with a major sports league.
The line, which went on sale on October 28, includes men's and women's apparel and accessories bearing team logos and colors. It blends the brand's performance-focused design with the NFL's fan appeal.
The partnership also involves Fanatics, the sports merchandising giant that manages official NFL merchandise.
Shares of Lululemon Athletica rose about five percent in premarket trading following the announcement, as investors welcomed the company's expansion into a broader athletic and fanwear market.
