The Tennessee Titans placed starting cornerback L'Jarius Sneed on injured reserve Thursday with a quad injury he sustained in last week's loss to the New England Patriots.
Sneed, who Tennessee acquired in a trade with Kansas City in March of 2024, will be sidelined at least for the next four games. It's unclear at this time if this is a reaggravation of the quad injury that ended his first season with the Titans after just five games last year.
Sneed, 28, has 26 tackles and three pass breakups in seven games this season, playing 78.5% of Tennessee's defensive snaps. After he had 10 interceptions over four years in Kansas City, Sneed has none in his first 12 games with the Titans (1-6).
Sneed will be eligible to return from the IR in Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tennessee signed linebacker Joe Bachie from the practice squad to take Sneed's roster spot. He's played in 56 games (seven starts) for the Philadelphia Eagles (2020), Cincinnati Bengals (2021-24) and Indianapolis Colts before signing with the Titans' practice squad last week after he was released by the Colts. Bachie entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020 with the New Orleans Saints.
