NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / July 16, 2019 / The top selling CBD brands have been those offering pure ingestible products either in capsule form or as liquid concentrated CBD oil to be used by putting a few drops under the tongue. These forms of CBD were the type of products at the beginning of the CBD boom and they remain a huge part of the expanding CBD market see here https://cbdrevu.com/cbdpure-hemp-oil-cbd/.
In 2019 we are seeing a number of national retailing chains entering the market however most are doing so with CBD 'topicals' such as creams and lotions but not with ingestible pure CBD products. A number of large national chains are jumping on the CBD bandwagon but appear to be doing so cautiously. Since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill the floodgates have opened somewhat as many big store chains have started to carry CBD products or have announced their intention to do so. But most are only offering topicals and not offering the popular ingestible form of CBD products. It remains to be seen whether topical CBD products becomes popular with consumers. It also remains to be seen what, if any, benefits exist from applying CBD in topical form.
This past March, CVS announced plans to carry CBD topicals in hundreds of stores in a number of states in the United States. Walgreen's announced similar plans, as did Rite Aid. More and more non-pharmacy operations are also getting in on the act as at least one major clothing retailer announce plans to carry topical CBD. Whether or not the public has any real interest in these topical CBD products remains to be seen, especially since there is no evidence of any particular benefit to using creams and lotions containing CBD.
Regarding the CBD market as a whole, one prominent industry observer is projecting continued substantial year over year growth for CBD products of over 700%. A big handicap for retail brick and mortar sales of CBD is the likelihood that most of these stores will carry only a limited selection of brands, as well as the fact that it appears most of these national chains seem to be shying away from ingestible CBD.
