Free agent tight end Noah Fant signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday. Financial terms weren't announced.
Fant, who was released by the Seattle Seahawks on July 20, likely will slot behind starter Mike Gesicki in Cincinnati.
'It's a great offense to be in,' Fant said of the Bengals, according to the team's website. 'Great coaches. When I took my visit (last week), I really liked the conversations I had. It will be a good fit.'
Before officially adding Fant, the Bengals waived rookie tight end Kole Taylor and reposted one of Fant's old social media comments about Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
'Joe Brrrr. Joe Shiesty. Joe Mama. Whatever you call him, he's the real deal,' Fant posted to Twitter, now X, on Jan. 30, 2022 -- the day Burrow guided the Bengals to a 27-24 overtime road win against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Fant, 27, recorded 48 catches for 500 yards and one touchdown in 14 games (nine starts) last season. He spent three seasons with Seattle after being acquired from the Denver Broncos in the Russell Wilson deal.
Fant has 300 receptions for 3,305 yards and 15 touchdowns in 95 career games (83 starts) with the Broncos and Seahawks. He was selected by the Broncos with the 20th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Iowa.
