WASHINGTON D.C.: After consumer complaints of oil pump failures, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation say they are investigating some 240,000 Ford EcoSport vehicles from 2018 to 2021.
The NHTSA said it opened the investigation on September 20 after receiving 95 complaints of oil pump failures that resulted in a loss of motive power while driving.
In June, the NHTSA said it was investigating Ford's previous recall of 710,000 Explorer SUVs over power loss reports to confirm if the fix done by the carmaker, the second largest in the U.S., was adequate.
