Amy Errett founded Madison Reed with over 30 years of business and operating expertise as a four-time entrepreneur, venture capitalist and social-mission visionary. In this episode, Amy discusses why she decided to found Madison Reed, how she managed to double the amount of business done during the pandemic, how to address gender inequality in entrepreneurship, and actionable tips for founders just getting started.
"You're a badass, and your hair is a manifestation of that," says Amy Errett, founder of Madison Reed hair care brand. Believing that women deserve more, not just in their hair color but in their lives, Amy founded Madison Reed in 2013, naming it after her daughter. Since then, Madison Reed has shaken up the hair color industry by making prestige salon quality hair color accessible and affordable. Their color match technology and low chemical ingredients profile make for an easy do-it-yourself product that people can use to color their hair at home. For those who would prefer not to color their hair themselves, Madison Reed has 85 hair color bars, their version of a salon, all across the country where people can have their hair colored for an average price of $80.
