Dr. G Richard Cohen, a board-certified ophthalmologist, founded Cohen Laser & Vision over 30 years ago to bring state-of-the-art eye care to Boca Raton. Since Cohen Laser & Vision opened, they have performed over 25,000 refractive surgeries as one of Florida's premier providers of LASIK surgery.
In June, the practice will celebrate an exciting new milestone when it becomes the first provider of the EVO ICL procedure in Boca Raton. The "ICL" in EVO ICL stands for an implantable collamer lens, which are lenses that can be surgically inserted to the eye. These lenses help to correct nearsightedness and nearsightedness with astigmatism. These lenses can also be surgically removed at a later time.
"The EVO ICL procedure is very safe, and we can complete it in 20-30 minutes right here in our on-site surgical center," says Dr. G. Richard Cohen, "The procedure is relatively simple and painless, and has a quick recovery with little downtime."
Since Cohen Laser & Vision opened, Dr. G Richard Cohen has been joined in his practice by his son, board-certified ophthalmologist Dr. Joshua Cohen. Dr. Joshua Cohen is also excited about the EVO ICL procedure, saying, "The EVO lens delivers sharp, clear vision, excellent night vision, and UV protection without causing dry eyes or needing to remove any corneal tissue. Some nearsighted people are not great candidates for other corrective procedures, due to their level of myopia, the presence of astigmatism, or having thin corneas. These people will be able to say 'goodbye' to their glasses and disposable contact lenses thanks to the EVO ICL Procedure."
